I have seen many practitioners with little to no improvement until I saw Dr. Spiro and he has been by far the most helpful in my healing journey. I’ve been dealing with dizziness for almost 3 years straight now and it’s affected my life to the point I can’t work and I’ve seen pretty much every other doctor and specialist you can think of. At that time we went through an extensive and interactive neurological exam. He was very interested in what my goals were and making me feel instantly comfortable as I believed he had confidence in our future success. My main issues were on my ability to navigate the world around me,to feel grounded, to know with confidence where my arms and legs were.With this skill dampened I grew more isolated. I also have brain fog, feeling like a wet blanket over my brain making it hard to concentrate and read for very long. I wish more folks knew about functional neurology and how much it can help regulate the body as a whole. I've gone from mostly bed bound, walking minimally, to walking an hour at a time and getting back to things I love like yoga and birding. After feeling very hopeless and left with a notion from my other healthcare providers that this is my "new normal" with POTS, it was such a relief to hear Dr. Spiro say he doesn't accept the concept of "new normals".
